SHANKSTARS

Shankstars is a mobile golf game developed by Topgolf that launched in fall 2022.


As the digital manager for Shankstars, my goal was to build brand awareness, identify possible partnerships, and grow all social accounts.

SCOPE:

GOAL:
Brand awareness, consistent increase in game downloads, consistent increase in followers on Instagram.

SOLUTION:
After researching successes within the gaming niche on social media, I created engaging content inspired by large mobile gaming accounts (Angry Birds, Candy Crush) to establish a sense of familiarity. Following this strategy, I incorporated content unique to the Shankstars game: gaming tutorials, character personalities, game narratives, and more.

As Shankstars increased in downloads, I leaned into series content and trends: Shankstars Fails, Character Abilities, earned UGC, CapCut filters and TikTok trending audios.

Additionally, I ideated and executed outbound engagement efforts to build brand awareness and encourage game downloads.

RESULTS:
Through application of organic strategies, I achieved the following KPIs in our final 7 months of services, across all platforms:

- Increased impressions by about 91%
- Engagements increased by about 300%
- Instagram engagement rate of 13.79%

With a $150 monthly ad budget for TikTok, we were also able to target a more niche audience and gain 3,000 new followers.
